Celestion G10 vs Alnico Gold 10"

edited October 2011 in General
Just another quick question.

Is Jim using the G10 vintage in his Princeton's or the Alnico Gold 10"?

  • Many thanks.

I read the gear page but it just says Celestion G10, not 'G10 vintage'.
Wasn't sure if the G10 meant the 'vintage' or the 'Gold 10'.
  • Good point. I guess I just assumed the Vintage (ceramic magnet), because when soneone is using the Alnico Gold, I always hear it referred to as the "alnico gold", never just "G10".

    Jim?
  • Hey guys this the info that I got from Jim:

JBL D120. "They don't get better then this..."

Jim's favorite speaker for Princetons ... Jensen C-10N

A good replacement speaker for Princetons... Celestion G-10. A bit more "throaty" then Jensen, but a great sound. Charlie Hunter and Tony Scherr like em too...

  • Thanks TRHM.
  • HM never heard of Jim using JBLs, but that's not surprising. Too bad they're so friggin' heavy! I moved to Jensen Neos just to get away from the weight (the Neos have fairly similar characteristicts to the JBLs, thank god).
