I recent bought the lesson "Chet Song". Great song!!! Excellent Lesson
The lesson include some hybrid picking melodies. Do you prefer fingernails (how long) or meat in the middle and ring finge?
SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH

Short as possible - If I'm looking at the palm of my hand I can barely see the protruding nail.
Although it feels better to play with a longer nail, shorter nails are sturdier and less likely to break.
  • I've got weak nails....I usually have to keep them even shorter than that. I hate busting them up. Isn't Chet song great?! I just spent an hour getting up to tempo. Still fumbling at full speed ;)

And jigonzav....man, don't be apologizing for your English! It's fantastic! Ask me about my Castellano :)
  • Chet Song is fantastic. I still have some problems withe the open G of the main riff: sound too loud..... I have to work in my right hand muting (right hand is everything).
Gracias Andyro! I always preffer to study Campilongo lesson than English Lenguage!
    ADIOS!

  • Dontcha just love what modern technology allows us to do? Here we are...a world away, connecting over some Jim. I played Chet Song for my 1st graders today, with the Boomerang (which they think is "magic") It was so cool. Then of course, I showed them the video of Jim doing it with the Hahn Tele. They liked his better ;)

.....I totally agree. I really enjoy watching this community grow. I like the helpful dialogues and the general tone that this forum is taking.

Back to the point...I like them short as well. It's lower maintenance plus my nails are too thin or something they just don't "cut it" ;)
  • After repeatedly breaking my nails over the years, the wife of a guitar playing friend who has her own nail shop offered to treat middle and ring finger nails (I'm a hybrid picker). Cost equivalent of $9 (in Switzerland where everything is more expensive), lasts for a month and looks exactly like the original. Very impressive, great sound and tough as nails!
