COUNTRY SOUL GUITAR LESSON
intermediate/advanced

In our new lesson "COUNTRY SOUL GUITAR" we venture into some iconic country guitar phrases based in melody that bring to mind the subtle stylings of Reggie Young, the poignant double-stops of Robbie Robertson and the steel guitar approach of Roy Buchanan. This lesson will help the guitarist incorporate some subtle soulful country concepts in a medium tempo context.

  • Very pretty. Can't wait for my birthday this year. I've got a list of lessons I've been building up for months.
  • I just learned this one and it is really helpful, very applicable to other songs and very fun to play. It's like a home cooked meal....it just feels right and it's good for you!
  • I think having audio snippets of lessons is a really terrific thing to do - it would help a great deal for making sure that style of music the lesson conveys matches one's interest/ability.

The audio for this lesson is an aural trail of bread crumbs that will lead me on to get this one in the near future.

Also, the previous email that linked in to the Willies show was fabulous - I so wish Jim could do a NC show, either alone on with the Willies. Seeing Diesel Smoke live would leave me with a deeply satisfied mind . . .
  • This lesson is actually a lot of fun, as well as informative. It blends well with some of the other work available in the lessons in that way, for me. Somehow challenging and relaxing.
