What is Jim's acoustic guitar?

edited April 2012 in General
I caught Jim and Steve Cardenas at the Falcon in Marlboro, NY last week. Anyone know what he is playing at these acoustic gigs? Seemed to be a smaller bodied Martin with an orange-y sunburst. Unfortunately I didn't get a good shot of it in this clip-

  • It's an ad, I know, but it's also as well recorded/filmed/played/informed...

  • Thanks Jim. The wife and I really enjoyed the show the other night. For anyone within driving distance of Marlboro, NY, The Falcon is a great place to see some music.
  • Thank you! We love playing the Falcon.
Since it's on loan from good pal Dave Boat -I always forget the model of the Collings but it's a great "new" guitar. Very consistent sound, a fast neck, good solid tuners. Understandably - not as "vibey" as my '59 Martin but a much easier ride.
I did have to add more fingerboard fret markers with "White-Out" though (with Dave's permission)
I need 12th fret double dots and 3rd, 5th, 9th and 15th single dot fret markers on the fingerboard, otherwise I occasionally pause or stutter. Steve and I had a laugh because he did the same White Out thing to the gut string he was playing that night... I don't know the brand or model. We both concurred a slight irritation with fingerboards without big ol' standard fret markers.
