Jazz of 1959
I recently found an excellent BBC documentary on 4 classic albums that came out in 1959. It has some great interviews and perspectives on the politics of the time and how these four albums fit in.
Warning: there is absolutely zero guitar involved in any of these albums. But hey, there's no sax in ACDC's Back In Black so I guess it evens out.
The doc is an hour (I think it's actually 59 minutes) and I loved it!

The albums are:
Kind Of Blue- Miles Davis
Time Out- Dave Brubeck
Mingus Ah Um- Charles Mingus (my favorite album of all time)
The Shape Of Jazz To Come- Ornette Coleman
