  • It seems those of us outside the USA need to be patient. The CD only showed up on amazon Canada's website today. I've got it ordered but apparently it will take up to 2 weeks to arrive.

I am sure it is worth the wait.

    Cheers

Thank you for buying my music JIG ...

Yes, that first chord is many, many, many E minor chord inversions. Sometime overdubbing can be wonderful! Anyway, I hope you continue to enjoy the record for a long time.

    Thanks again -Jim
  • I am one of the lucky ones that gets to see Jim play in New York. Back in December I was lucky enough to be the first person to buy the Dream Dictionary CD right from Jim's hands at the show, and have been listening to it non stop in my car ever since. I have several favorites but track 11 is just over the top quintessential Campilongo. After listening to it about 500 times, I finally decided to look on the CD and find out the name of the song. I was surprised to read the words "Manic Depression." "That doesn't sound much like the Hendrix tune," I told myself...so I listened closely, and LOUD, a few dozen more times...still didn't really hear the resemblance...then I listened to the interview with Jim where he confirms it is indeed an interpretation of the Hendrix tune...so I went back of course, and listened again and again...still really can't connect the Manic Depression dots. I guess I kinda hear it a little towards the end. maybe. more sounds to me like Jim just doing his thing. either way just a killer track, really captures what Jim is all about. Cock & Bull and Nang Nang, Here am I, and really just the whole thing is perfect. this CD should be played LOUD! they have a CD release party tonight at Rockwood. will try to make it Jim!

I made it to the show last night which was a heater as expected. Jim really broke down "Manic Depression," and for sure I caught a chord progression right in the middle of the song that is clearly the Hendrix tune, but really that was just for a few seconds. he is more "teasing" the song than playing it, especially on the album. The band is really just, so...its hard to explain because I say so many great things about so many great bands...but they are just absolutely incredible. wow.
  • I am so happy you were there since you are a part of our little music family. Thank you!
  • PS- Manic Depression is HARD to detect!
  • thanks for the kind words Jim. what a killer show. here's some footage from Manic Depression.

  • Now that I watch the video a few times over I can really see what you are doing with the song, the bigger picture. that is a crazy version indeed. Your interpretation is so layered in...music theory, or something. I do hear it now. The live video seems a little more transparent than the album, but maybe that's just me. I am certain Jimi is right here with us and both flattered and impressed with your "Manic Depression." I also think the entire "Dream Dictionary" concept, title, and music therein is very much his thing. Not even speaking of the 3-piece trio, I just mean as far as his taste and style.

We all know Jim does a smokin version of Third Stone also. What else you got Jim? maybe a Halloween set one year? "The Jim Campilongo Experience" ha. sorry, had to try!

  • My copy finally arrived this week, so I am a little late to the party. I've been listening to it since it arrived. It is fantastic! Great job Jim!!

"Here I am" is completely mesmerizing and haunting. "The Past is Looking Brighter and Brighter" is my current favourite but all the tracks are superb.
