If Jim were to record an album of traditional Irish tunes and standards, what would you want included?

I'll start with Danny Boy. Sure it's been overdone almost to the point of being corny, but I think Jim could do something really unique and interesting with it. Besides, it was good enough for Johnny Paycheck.

  • The great Paul Brady doing Arthur McBride. About some British Army recruiters foolish enough to try and recruit some Irish lads. Some really nice guitar.
  • With traditional Irish music, you've got your rebel songs, your drinking songs, your sentimental ballads, and your lilting airs.

    Here's the beautiful old standard Carrickfergus performed by The Chieftains. This song in Jim's hands I think would not be out of place on Table for One. In fact, I could imagine Jim sitting in with The Chieftains quite naturally:
