Bill Doggett Quaker City ... I would say this is Bill Jennings on guitar, not Billy Butler of "Honky Tonk" fame.... I've been revisiting Bill Jennings for about a month now and he sounds better and better and better. My version of "Quaker City" is from "Hot Doggett". This version sounds remastered for CD (with a bit too much reverb added, compared to my version anyway) Check out the first line of the guitar solo - It's a pretty and elegant entrance.
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but that Quaker City track is amazing. I didn't know Bill Jennings until I came across the name in the list of Jim's lessons. Awesome! I hope this becomes a lesson some day. :-)

Mr Jennings superimposes jazz changes over I, IV, V. These lines can be internalized and easily applied on any blues format
