Country Lead in G

edited April 2013 in General
I just bought Country Lead in G and am really enjoying it, but I have a problem....I'm having real difficulty with the behind the nut bending, specifically with the whole step bend on the fourth string in the third lead. I frankly don't see myself EVER being able to depress the string enough with my left index finger (perhaps even with left index and middle) to bend the string a complete whole step. I have long, skinny, and (I suppose) weak fingers, but it seems to me one would have to have the hands of a professional wrestler to get that bend. Does anyone have any suggestions? PS I'm playing a fake Tele with not particularly heavy strings. Thank you.

  • I used to have the same problem. My friends make fun of my hands bc they look like ET's and are very weak.

My suggestion is try it a few times a day for a month or two. If you put in the effort usually Mother Nature will meet you half way.

I can not imagine that your finger is so so slight, it's impossible....(and I've seen your hands Corey)

Make sure your left hand finger is away from the nut and tuning peg where the string has the most slack.
