Hi everyone! New guy here. I'm just getting into Jim's music. I've (legally!) downloaded his first and last albums plus a few other random songs. Great stuff! I also purchased the Twister lesson just for fun too.

Thanks for all you do Jim, you're awesome!!

    Welcome to the forum DakotaRedTele...and welcome to the world of Jim's music! Very excited to hear when a fellow guitar aficionado gets into Jim's tunes (and lessons). I have found the last few years of taking Lessons by Mail to be completely transformative. Twister was one of my first lessons as well and never get tired of playing those licks. Take the lesson slow and the tune will start to click surprisingly fast. And let us know if your looking for more lesson recommendations. There's more than a few of us on the forum who love to share our learning experience.

    Hey, thanks CJ!

    I'm pleased with my Twister progress so far. My oh my, what a fun song! I'll probably get a chord melody tune next, or maybe the voice leading lesson. Jim does a really nice job explaining things.

    The iTunes "complete my album" feature sucked me in... I got the rest of Orange and Heavy. I'm trying to ration myself and not buy everything all at once. Ha ha, I guess I'd better stay off iTunes then, huh?

    So, my user name: Dakota Red is my favorite Fender color, and my main guitar is a Dakota Red GE Smith Tele. I love the big thick neck (my hands are fairly big) and the retro lap-steel fret markers. I'd love an orange Campy Tele too, but they made what... two of those?

    Well, I'm going to go practice some more now...

    Hi Michael, thanks for sharing the info about Dakota Red! I love tid bits of guitar info like that. Just googled it as well and saw some really cool looking strats n teles in that color. Can you post a pic of your guitar?

    Glad Twister is going well for you. Yes, it's a blast to play that one. And I found that it works great at different tempos.

    Jim's chord melodies are really awesome as well especially if you are looking to add some new chords to your pallete...and new tunes to the repertoire. I started with Over the Rainbow and was immediately hooked on the concept. I'm also a big fan of the playing the blues lessons and cannot rave enough about B flat blues. Glad to give more details if your intersted.

    Thanks CJ! And I did NOT paint the room to match the guitar, I promise. The room was that color well in advance of the guitar's arrival.

    I've been tempted to buy a nice dual-load bridge so I can try out top loading like the Campy models, but I've been in a very "less gear more practice" mode lately.

    Twister is coming along nicely. I was working on it last night in fact. I was thinking this morning that I should post a clip of me playing it when I'm 'done'.
