Big boy guitar solo question!

Hello,I am revisiting the "big boy" lesson after a long hiatus.
Can anyone on here tell me what is going on in the second chorus of the guitar solo,it seems like he is super imposing a minor iv chord over the I
Not sure though,I would like to have a better theoretical knowledge of this approch so I can apply it to other tunes?

    There are many, many incredible moments in that solo. That VI minor can be defined as a minor ii V going to I. I think it's easier to look at it as VI minor over the V chord. Thank for ordering the lesson Steve, and keep up the good work!
