Jet Vs. Princeton?

Since I've gotten into Jim's music I've been lusting after a Princeton Reverb Reissue... selling a few things to gather up the dough.
Last night I took my 60's Ampeg Jet to my regular Monday gig and with a reverb and trem pedal I was pretty much getting the sound I would expect from a Princeton. I know nothing of the internal workings of amps so can anyone tell me, are the bones of a Jet similar to a Princeton? I may have just saved myself $750!

    No longer matters.... found and boughten a used Princeton re-ish!. :-)
