  That's not nothing, Jim. Congratulations.
  And, for what it's worth, I just joined another forum about barbecue (another hobby), and somehow a thread got started over there on guitars. I mentioned to a couple of guys that they should check you out. Anyway, the membership in this thing is growing exponentially. So, soon, you should be able to eat free anywhere you smell smoke.

  great article. I have not made it to the new Living Room yet. If it is 2 sets of Jim at 9:00 as opposed to one set of Jim at 10:00 (on Mon at RW) than I will start shooting for Tues LR instead of Mon RW, when I can. Rockwood is great but I work mornings and live closer to Brooklyn anyway. 2 sets of Jim is great.

  LOL- I have read for years that the Guinness shipped to us here in the states (or at this point, actually brewed here in the states?) is NOT the same stuff you have in Ireland.... I don't know why the recipe is different, but it apparently is. Even my wife, who never drinks Guinness here, DID while she was in Dublin! Even had one for breakfast !!!

  On Guinness: Well, I have experienced the same here in Northern Europe, it just isn't as good. Nor was it in Northern Ireland when I was there for a couple of days a decade ago. But I think that was on purpose.
  
  When in Rome, drink as the Romans do.... Many supposedly great American beers taste stale to me here, but having drank some fresh local (microbrew) ones in Oregon/Washington I will say USA has the best beers anywhere (although also maybe the worst). Though I do have a soft spot for a few Belgian beers, having lived a year in Leuven. And... When in Austria, the Austrian beers are the best in the world, likewise in Germany or Czech republic... etc.
  
  I wish the article was more about the wonderful music, less about the gear and how there were nobody to see him. I do remember being in the same boat as the writer... having never listened to any of JC's records (besides quickly skimming the outtakes on his site just the day before) then traveling to see Campilongo play to a non-existing crowd, and how the the music blew my mind (in 2003 here in Finland).

  +1; I wish the guy was more of a Campy MUSIC fan (instead of just "knowing about him and his gear") before he went to see him, it would have made a better article. But any press is good press!! Good press for Jim!! New Yorker magazine is no small potatoes!
