Advice on which one - PRRI or the 68 Custom

Hi All,

My first post on the forum!!

I only came across Jim and his music when scouring all over youtube for reviews of the PRRI. I have since bought Orange on Vinyl, Dream Dictionary on CD (I wish all his catalog was on Vinyl though) and his Sonic Tele series, loving all and the later is keeping me very busy.

I kinda had my heart set on the PRRI until I saw the clip where Jim goes over the 68 custom, the vibrato on that thing sounded awesome. I think I am after the fender b/f tone - I love those glassy tones, but I also use pedals to get into the dirt. The reviews I have seen say the 68 is better at taking pedals. Is this because it breaks up earlier? And how does the PRRI compare in this area? From what I have read it seems these 2 amps are quite different tone wise.

I live in Ireland so getting side by side comparisons in a shop is limited, and going down the vintage route is probably not an option.

So any opinions, suggestions I would appreciate folks
