  • Yeah I bought this over Xmas, and being more of blues player the material introduced techniques that were challenging at first, but with perseverance I feel I've made a big leap of improvement in my playing, so thanks Jim!!!

All the lessons have great nuggets of info to absorb which you can see have been thought about when putting the whole thing together.

Am definitely going to dive into some LBM now, though not too sure where to start, was thinking of Understanding Progressions & Voice Leading or Arpeggio's as Exercises

    Any recommendations?
  • Hi pb - That's a good one and I would suggest looking at this thread.

    Glad you liked the DVD!

    All the best- Jim
  • I'm having fun with Awful Pretty Pretty Awful from he TF lesson. sweep picking has always been a difficult thing for me. but it's coming together. some crazy awesome licks on this.
  • I love this instructional video. The only thing I hate is that you can't play it on your DVD player. I was wondering if there isn't a way around this. Can I burn it on a empty DVD?
  • I have a feeling you can't... the DVD player could play the video content, I guess, but the whole point of the TF courses is that they are INTERACTIVE.... you have a control interface on the screen to slow down, change tempo, etc.... that can't be done on a DVD player without specific DVD programming..... the Truefire stuff is designed to be used on a computer.

Now- you CAN DISPLAY your computer screen on your TV, as long as your TV has an HDMI input. I do this all the time, watching movies on iTunes. I plug my computer into the tv, and watch on the tv.

I don't know if it's appropriate to say this or not. If it's not, I hope the moderator deletes this comment, or if someone else tells me to, I'll delete it.

I purchase the TrueFire download. Then I just open up the files and go into the folder called "data", and also the ones with Charts and Jam Tracks. Then I can easily put the videos on my Nexus 5 phone or what ever device I want.

I don't like their software, but it's easy to get at the individual files.

I would never distribute the files (or music). I'm a bit of a stickler for that. I strongly believe artists (and copyright holders) should get paid for their work. This David Lowery article http://thetrichordist.com/2012/06/18/letter-to-emily-white-at-npr-all-songs-considered/ really spoke to me.

So, that's how you can more easily get to the Truefire content that you've purchased.

Again, please let me know if I should delete this comment. I'm not trying to facilitate illegal file sharing.
