Today I received my "Last night this Morning" audio CD from Amazon. Wow!!! "Lola my Baby's is coming home" it a beauty. This album is fabulous. Thanks Jim
Thank you Clavan - "Lola my Baby's Coming Home" is my favorite track on the new record. The guys and Luca really brought out the pretty aspect of the song, and I'm proud of it. Thanks for buying my music!
Hey Jim, others This might be a lengthy conversation and probably in the wrong place, but here's a question: are the musicians' royalties much different depending on the way I buy the music (CD from shop, CD or vinyl directly from artist, iTunes or similar). I'd rather support the artist than the "middle man". I didn't buy "Last night, this morning" yet, hoping Jim might appear in Finland again and I'll buy it from him. In this era of streaming and "free listening" my heart goes out to artists trying to make it in this unfair situation. Any thoughts?
PS. Jim, bring American Hips too next time, it's the only one I'm missing...
Thanks Jim, got it. I saw you scheduled in Malmitalo, Helsinki on Dec. 3rd. Not the greatest venue, but so much better than nothing at all! Stay healthy!
I bought "Almost Christmas" last year and am mad at myself for waiting so long. It has the most beautiful version of "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear" I've ever heard.
Malmitalo in December? The first week of Dec I am in Spain. But I have many great memories of seeing Jim at Malmitalo many times!
Actually the MP3 download is also available at emusic.com, but is that service a con for the artist?
I still don't have Almost Christmas, almost bought it at amoeba San Francisco at when it was new, but never did... but love the Jingle Bells a la Don Rich! Which reminds me that the Amoeba records "Music we like" fall edition is out, some of my favourite reading! http://www.amoeba.com/music/music-we-like/
My cd finally arrived (long story that involves trying to get around the import costs of getting the cd in Canada). Three listens through and I have to say I am really enjoying it. It is a refreshing change from the trio based CDs (which I really enjoy too). It must have been a heck of a lot of fun reenvisioning older material with this group and more instruments.

In any case - way to go! Great stuff - and THANK YOU for not having this mastered like today's squashed albums. The dynamic range is great.
100% agree !
