  Haha, I currently have this on my watchlist but I am still on the fence about bidding or not. I would love to get this, but the
  end price will probably be out of my pocket range anyway. By the way, would I be bidding against any forum member?

  Did anyone here get that one? Here’s a picture of mine, I believe this may be the earliest version as Roy’s name isn’t stenciled in red on the front.

  Not my favorite Roy LP - I prefer 1st & 2nd albums over everything - but "Sweet Dreams" from the burlap LP is brilliant.
  
  Mine is a below -a generous gift from an excellent guitarist and former student Corey... I'd been wanting one for 30 years.

  It's one of the few Chet albums I do not have. But I haven't been able to bring myself to pay the ~$80 after shipping.

  I could be wrong, but my understanding is that it was a record released solely for Japan. I believe Chet does traditional Japanese songs on it. In any case, I think it'd be really interesting and would be great to hear Chet make that music his own. I love how Chet always makes the melody the most important part of a song.

  I too own one without the red stencil on it. I also heard through the grapevine that these early ones they were nervous to put his name on due to complications with polydor, and then later they decided to just go for it.
  
  I was a little pampered in my early record collecting days as I found a few copies in a short period of time and did not truly appreciate how scarce they are. After giving one to Jim I have three remaining in various conditions.
  
  I think when I die one of my best memories will be the five minutes I got to listen to that album with Jim. What a cool moment, sitting with my favorite guitar player listening to my other favorite guitar player.

  Corey, thanks for the back story on this album. The spelling of the group as “Snakestretcher’s” (possessive) rather than “Snakestretchers” (plural) is kind of amusing/annoying, although it’s spelled correctly on the label. Also, the label indicates “One of Three” as if this may have been intended as the first release of a trio. But then came his proper Polydor debut, and the rest is history.

  I take lessons from a 93 year old WW2 vet and he knew Chet and said that he was practicing and arranging constantly and that through his work he was surrounded by so many players that he was always exchanging arrangements and ideas. He was a nexus for a lot of folks.

  Anyone hear this? I love John's LP and it remains one of my favorite guitar records ever. Yoko's has Ornette Coleman as a guest and other jazz greats. I bet it's out there...
